Hi, my name is April Nelson. I grew up in Gladstone but my family and I live on an acreage south of Austin. We have 3 dogs and 3 horses that I enjoy riding in my spare time. I graduated from WMCI and also from Red River Community College with my health care aide certificate. I worked as a health care aide for about 3 years then worked at a feedlot south of MacGregor for 14 years. I now work as a veterinary assistant at the Gladstone Vet Clinic. I work with both small animals and large animals but large animals are the part of the practice I enjoy the most. I have been at the clinic for 3 years now and very much enjoy working with Dr. Anderson, the staff, the clients, and the animals.

I grew up on a mixed beef and grain farm west of Gladstone and knew from a young age that I wanted to work in the medical field while still keeping rural roots. Veterinary medicine was a good fit and, after all these years, I still am passionate about my work and enjoy the challenges and opportunities of both livestock and companion animal practice. During my off time, I enjoy reading, cooking, working outdoors and driving around, looking at livestock and spending time with my family, friends and pets.
